הנביא יחזקאל צווח (ט”ז כ’):

ותקחי את בניך ואת בנותיך אשר ילדת לי ותזבחים להם לאכול המעט מתזנותיך.

וכתב רש”י שם בלשון “לי”:

אשר ילדת לי, היו לו חמשה בנים ד’ מהם לעבוד עבודה זרה ואחד מוקצה לבית הספר ובא להקריב אחד מבניו למולך מקריב לו את זה שהקצה ללמוד תורה במדרש רבי תנחומא…

נו, זה שמעבירים אותנו למולך הצבאי (וכמו שהארכנו במקו”א)… מה אני יכול להגיד? וכי מה אפשר לצפות מהם?!

אבל את מי חוטפים האליטות למטרותיהם הנעלות של ריקוד “מה יפית”, של התחנחנות מאוסה בעיני שונאי ישראל, של המשך “תהליך השלום” המקודש, של גירוש ישראל מאדמתם, של תיאטרון בטחון, של סבבי “מלחמה” אוטו-אנטישמית מוסרית כביכול, של תרגול בכלי זיין בתנאי אמת אך כדי להעלות את המחיר לגוים הקונים נשק חדשני של המדינה, של הצגת “כח” כדי שיוכלו הפוליטיקאים לדחות ולענות את דינם שלהם על מעשיהם, של “כיבוש” כדי להחזיר לרוצחים המקוריים, של לקיחת שבויים כדי להחזיר אותם ב”עיסקה”, של הקלת עול החמאס מאויבנו בעזה?

את מי שוחטים על המזבח בחרב בני עמון לשם כל זה? דוקא את שומרי הדת, את חובשי הכיפות, את מקיימי העולם, את בחורי הישיבה, את שומרי הגחלת, מקודשי, את הטובים! אפילו כתורמוס הזה, ששולקין אותו שבע פעמים ואוכלין אותו בקנוח סעודה לא עשאוני בני!

ב”סטודנטים” אי אפשר לגעת, בשאר הולכי בטל א”א לפגוע (אף כי “כמה בטלני איכא בשוקא”), וכו’ וכו’. כולם הרי עסוקים למעלה ראש, כולם יקרים, כולם תורמים כבר מעל ומעבר. אבל לומדי התורה ושומרי מצוותיה, ובפרט אלו המנדדים שינה וגולים מעיר לעיר, העומדים בבחינות ונקנסים על שמירת סדרים? פשוט סרח העודף, “חכמת סופרים תסרח”.

הוי, אין לך “בן חורין” אלא מי שעוסק בתורה (כמו שאומרים הדרשנים)…

אהה, אבינו שבשמים, אל תחרש אל תשקוט. הערב רב בא להשמיד את שארית הפליטה כולה, זרע עבדיך! ובפרט על של עתה, הצל נא את בניך אהוביך העוסקים בתורתך הקדושה בארץ הקודש ושמור עליהם מפני גזרת “הגיוס”, שריפת גוף ונשמה יחד. זכור הבטחת כי לא תשכח ואל תתן נחלתך לחילונים (זרים)!

What’s “wrong” with the chakira method and its abstractions? I would say that it largely misses what’s arguably the highest level of Torah study: learning with the goal of positively identifying the practical halacha (שמעתתא אליבא להלכתא).

Why do I feel that שמעתתא אליבא להלכתא is the optimal learning style? Because Rashi (Bava Kama 92a) says so. And because that’s the simple meaning of this Gemara (Kiddushin 40b):

And Rabbi Tarfon and the elders were reclining in the attic of the house of Nitza in Lod. A question was posed: “Is study greater, or is action greater?” Rabbi Tarfon responded saying: “Action is greater”. Rabbi Akiva responded saying: “Study is greater”. Everyone responded saying “Study is greater because study leads to action”.

In other words, the true greatness of learning Torah is in how it leads to action. Or: שמעתתא אליבא להלכתא.

His original\true name is Stephen John Allen (as can be seen by digging through LinkedIn).

Every such “Report” by Allen includes a manic prayer obviously written by Berland yemach shemo himself, complete with stupid gematrias in parens. This is how we know beyond the shadow of a doubt where all this is coming from, despite the “Shoemaker’s” vain attempts to conceal his dark affiliation.
