Techeiles – Who Needs Whom?

Authored by: העורך Editor

Rabbi Avraham Rubin’s certification for the Petil Tekhelet’s product stresses his supervision only concerns the accuracy of the claim they are doing what they said they would, but not the validity of their Halachic view:

תעודת הכשר

הרינו לאשר כי… התכלת שבפתילים אלו הופקו מן החלזון הימי ארגמון קהה קוצים שכמה גדולי ישראל הסכימו על זה. הנני לאשר כי לצורך אלו האנשים המעונייינים והצורכים תכלת זו, שדם חלזון זה שהופק מהשבלול של החלזון הנ”ל הוא דם נקי ללא תערובת מדם חלזונות או צבע אחר…

Rabbi Rubin makes the same point in casual conversation, too.

The reality and Torah truth of this are overwhelming. When will these rabbis realize we don’t need their legitimacy at all?! They need ours!

You’re on record. Stop embarrassing yourselves with your blatant intellectual dishonesty.

The Jewish Mental Response to Adversity

Is to recognize Hashem’s Chessed in protecting us from it up until now.

See Rabbi Hirsch’s brilliant commentary to the Parsha of the poisonous snakes, Parshas Chukas (Bamidbar 21:6 – 9).

(Ayn Rand once rejected what she termed the “Malevolent Universe Premise“: As the simplest empirical refutation of that metaphysics—as evidence of the fact that the material universe is not inimical to man and that catastrophes are the exception, not the rule of his existence—observe the fortunes made by insurance companies.)
