I suspect the accursed people who killed Rabin and tortured Amiram Ben Uliel for 30 days without a pause (among many, many other crimes) only ever “ask Halachic questions” to make certain rabbis feel falsely important (i.e., to “cultivate” them).
Hey, did they ask Rabbi A. Weiss then if they were allowed to desecrate Shabbos for the great mitzva of torturing innocents such as Amiram and others?
