Sefer Orchos Tzaddikim Sha’ar Haratzon:
“אשרי איש ירא את ה’ במצותיו חפץ מאד”, אינו אומר אלא “חפץ”, רצונו לומר, שישים אדם חפצו על המצוות. אמר רבי אבהו: לעתיד הכל עתידים להיות תמהין כנגד מי ששמע לאלהים ואומרים: מי הוא זה שפל שלא קרא ולא שנה? והרי הוא יושב עם האבות ומשיח (א”ה, בשי”ן שמאלית) עמהם, והאלהים יאמר להם: מה אתם תמהים? לא זכו אלו אלא מפני ששמעו אלי, שנאמר: “אוזן שומעת תוכחת חיים בקרב חכמים תלין”.
Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky shlita in a letter noted the source as Medrash “Aggadas Bereishis” chapter 4. (I also saw this quoted in the name of Otzar YAD Hachaim Siman 93 in the name of the early Orchos Chaim.)
This is not antinomian. Of course, one cannot “listen to Hashem” without knowing exactly what He said (and He also commanded us to study Torah!), and לא עם הארץ חסיד, but not everyone is given the opportunity to study.
