A Normy’s Reaction to Reading KEDUSHAS TZION… (And My Advice for Him)

I keep handing underground copies of Kedushas Tzion to an older, strait-laced scholar נר”ו, usually reluctant to even glance at the cover.

He read about ten essays in total, four of them from the most recent holiday issue.

This was his (partial) reaction:

“I don’t disagree with what the writers say, but I myself would not employ the same phrasing.”

We’ll take that as a ringing endorsement! Converting the rest of Eretz Yisrael should be a cinch…

By way of counsel, I presented him with my own modus operandi

When I encounter content I think valuable, but somehow “off”, I continue reading. I read and read and read until one of two things occur. Either I find myself embracing the medium, as well as the message, or I reject the very message (along with the medium).
