I just heard Rabbi Manis Friedman speak [recently]. He related that a Christian came over to him at the end of a conference and asked him, “Why do you Jews suffer so much?”,“I knew where he was going, so I replied, ‘Us suffer? who says that we suffer?” Look at history, throughout history, you have suffered under different monarchies and rulers.”“That’s only because WE WERE ALWAYS THERE!'”We are the only ones who were always there throughout history. The others were gone, Roman, Greeks, Turkish Empire, etc., all destroyed.
