הגאון הרב גדלי’ נדל ז”ל ברח מהצבא אחרי מעשה אלטלנה
הנה ציטוט מפודקסט עם נכדו, הרב אברהם לוי:
סבא שלי, ר’ גדליה, לא היה אנטי-ציוני במובן של נטורי קרתא. כשפרצה מלחמת השחרור, היה בו להט. הוא האמין שחייבים להגן על עם ישראל. יהודים בסכנה? צריך לקום ולעשות מעשה. הוא התגייס.
ואז הגיע סיפור אלטלנה. סבא ראה איך יהודים יורים על יהודים בפקודת הממשלה הזמנית. באותו רגע נפל לו האסימון. הוא הבין שהצבא הזה הוא לא ‘מיליציה של העם היהודי’ שבאה להגן עלינו, אלא זרוע של שלטון פוליטי. הוא הבין שהמדינה החדשה הזו מעדיפה את הריבונות שלה ואת שלטון המפלגה על פני הערך הפשוט של ‘לא תרצח’ ושל אחדות ישראל. באותו רגע הוא אמר: ‘אני לא יורה ביהודים’, והלך הביתה.
שחיתות צבורית ‘לשם שמים’ בכאילו

יש הבדל גדול בין שחיתות שמנסים להסתיר כי ברור שהיא לא תקינה לבין שחיתות שנשענת על עיקרי הדת וחיוב קדוש שאי אפשר לסתור אותו.
דוגמאות:
- אשכולות סמוכים על עושק הגננות החרדיות, שחלק ממנו נוצר כי הוחלט לקחת חלק מהשכר למימון גני אידישקייט מעוטי ילדים בערים חילוניות, או לטובת מימון שעות לימודים ארוכות במוסדות נוספים שתחת העמותה
- מוסדות חינוך\ ישיבות\ בתי כנסת שבונים בצמוד לבתי מגורים או בשטחים פרטיים ללא היתר, והעיריות ששולטים בהם אנ”ש מגבים אותם ולא אוכפים את החוק בגלל “יחסי עבודה” עם מנהיגי הקהילות.
- מחלקות רווחה שנשלטות ע”י עסקנים שלא מאפשרים טיפול לילדים נפגעים כשההורים מקושרים ומיוחסים.
כשהעושק נעשה מטעמי אידישקייט- אין למי לצעוק ואין סיוע. שלטון חרדי של אנ”ש זה חלום שחור לכל מי שמבין את המשמעויות האתיות, החוקיות והכלכליות.

The Dark Side of Bitachon
There are Jews who publish about Bitachon. But they often write in a way that implies the New Age “Law of Attraction” which talks of the pagan “Universe”, and not Hashem. I know they don’t actually think that. So, I approached these people (via a friend) and requested that they explain clearly the crucial difference between Bitachon and Avoda Zara-adjacent notions of Hashem being an ATM, God forbid.
- Rabbi YY Jacobson seems to believe this stuff.
- A list of syncretist BuJu books and the genre’s growing popularity.
- The Hebrew book “Hasod Hagaluy” (sold very well a few years ago), which pretends this is part of Torah.
- All manner of horrific, private self-help charedi “courses” are sold under various names.
- And far more, under the radar (for now).
Surely a disclaimer is in order.
But, No. As the Bitachon promoters see it, it’s all in Hashem’s hands, including Yiras Shamayim, including the “מצוה שא”א לה להעשות ע”י אחרים”, so nothing is wrong with them nonchalantly enabling fake bitachon.
Find a few sources here on the concept (example: trusting Hashem will provide for the poor, and so giving less tzedaka). And by Kal Vachomer endangering lives, etc., we posted about yesterday.
Speaking of the Chassidic world’s fake bitachon (on the margin), here is a story of the Baal Shem Tov himself (the person these mutants think they are following!), quoted:
Someone came to the Baal Shem in terrible distress, saying that the army was going to quarter a soldier in every person’s house. The concerns of kashrus, drunkenness, having women in the house are self-evident. It so happened that the Baal Shem’s talmid was in the house, [edit: R’ Nachman of Horodenka], and he said, “Gam zu l’tova.” The Baal Shem retorted, “It is a good thing that you did not live at the time of Haman, because instead of eitzos and taanis and tefilla, you would have just said ‘Gam zu l’tova.””
