The Mussarites themselves tell the following story:
At a meeting of all German university rectors, one professor arose and announced there was a science studied by only one institute in the whole land. “What and where?”, all asked curiously. “The science is character perfection, and it is studied in the “Talmud Torah” yeshiva of Kelm, and nowhere else!”
