For 20 years, Honenu’s attorneys, support staff, and volunteers have been rushing from police station to courthouse to demonstration to wherever our assistance was needed, all throughout Israel, to help the thousands of plaintiffs and defendants from all walks of life, soldiers and citizens, who were in need of legal counsel due to a judicial system that was unresponsive to their plight.
Honenu has come to the assistance of a wide range of litigants, including:
Soldiers who defended themselves in life-threatening situations and found themselves investigated by the Military Criminal Investigation Division,
Victims of terror, the injured and the bereaved, whose only demand was justice,
Thousands of detainees protesting the expulsion from Gush Katif, the Northern Shomron, and Amona,
Thousands of demonstrators who exercised their legal right to protest at hundreds of demonstrations over the years,
Youths who were tortured – interrogated “under extreme duress” – in the Shabak dungeons, and
Victims of rioting by Arab citizens of Israel.
The financial demands on Honenu are constantly increasing. Over the past year, we have handled hundreds of requests from individuals, soldiers, and civilians, who found themselves embroiled in legal crises following either nationalistic or security-related incidents.
To maintain our critical work, we have launched a fund-raising campaign. Honenu has never closed its doors to anyone in need of assistance. Help ensure our continued operation.
מי לא מכיר את ‘חוננו’? כבר 20 שנה שהעובדים והמתנדבים של ‘חוננו’ מתרוצצים בין בתי המשפט ברחבי הארץ, מלווים יד ביד רבבות עמך בית ישראל, חיילים ואזרחים שנזקקים לסיוע משפטי מול מערכת שפעמים רבות מידי מתגלה כאטומה.
חיילים שהדפו סכנה לחייהם ומצאו את עצמם בחקירת מצ”ח; נפגעי טרור שאבדו את היקר להם ודורשים טיפה של צדק; אלפי עצורים בתקופת המאבק בגירוש מגוש קטיף, בהרס עמונה, במאות הפגנות לאורך השנים; נערים שמעונים במרתפי השב”כ; נפגעי הפרעות של ערביי ישראל; כולם כולם מוצאים ב’חוננו’ יד מושטת לעזרה.
העול הכלכלי של החזקת העמותה כבד היום מאי פעם. השנה האחרונה הציפה את חוננו במאות פניות של נפגעי טרור ושל אנשים שנקלעו למצוקות משפטיות על רקע לאומי ובטחוני.
יצאנו למבצע התרמה שמטרתו להבטיח את המשך הפעילות שלנו. מעולם לא סגרנו את הדלת לאף פונה. תנו לנו את הכוח להמשיך. בכל הכוח. בשביל עם ישראל.
