Are the Best Things in Life Free?

First of all, who cares? We make money because we have goals beyond our individual lives.
And the adage is false to boot if you count the opportunity cost of time and effort. Achieving love, friendship, and health does demand some money (friends are acquired with gifts, Rabbi Bartenura “וקנה לך חבר”, wives must be supported, אסיא דמגן במגן…) and also much time and thought.
In that sense, the best things in life are emphatically NOT free.

סופת הארווי הנוראית הכתה בטקסס וגרמה נזקי שיא שמוערכים ב- 190 מיליארד דולר, שהם כ 1% מהתוצר האמריקאי. נזק באמת עצום וכנראה חסר תקדים (“חסר תקדים” משתי סיבות: גידול האוכלוסייה והאינפלציה של הדולר…).

מאחר ונושא “שינויי האקלים” (האקלים תמיד משתנה…) נמצא בפי כל, קופצים רבים ומקשרים בין הדברים ומטיפים לנו מוסר: “ראיתם? טראמפ מכחיש את האקלים ופורש מהסכם פאריס, וראו איזה עונש נוראי נפל על ראשו. איך אפשר להמשיך ולהתעלם משינויי האקלים? חייבים מיד להתקין עוד לוחות שמש ותחנות רוח”. זה מה שנקרא: רוקדים על האסונות, ומנצלים אותם לתעמולה אידאולוגית.

האמת היא שאין שום קשר בין סופת הארווי וההתחממות הגלובאלית. סופות תמיד היו, ואין שום מגמה של התחזקות או התרבות הסופות. ההיפך. כשבוחנים את כמות הסופות שהיכו בחופי ארה”ב מבחינים במגמת ירידה קלה ב- 100 השנים האחרונות.

Boy who suffered up to 100 seizures a day has ZERO after being prescribed cannabis oil

Another great reason to ban Cannabis oil. According to a recent article published by the Independent, Billy, an 11-year-old boy from the United Kingdom hasn’t had an epileptic seizure in 300 days. His mother has been treating him with an evil natural drug called CBD, a compound found in cannabis plants.

Billy used to suffer up to 100 seizures per day, has now not had a single seizure for 300 days. Ms Caldwell said the cannabis oil has also improved his autism, for example, better eye contact and engagement with books and toys.

“To me, that’s incredible, because one seizure can kill him,” she told ITV News after 90 days of no seizures.

Campaigners say CBD can also help with diseases including cancer and Crohn’s disease. It is legal in the UK and the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulation Agency said CBD has a “restoring, correcting or modifying” effect on “physiological functions”.
