Exposing NATRUNA’s Deceptive List of Anti-Zionist Rabbinic Quotes!

The Satmarist TorahJews.org has an attractive page of rabbinic quotes supposedly backing up their anti-Zionist baloney.

I  already addressed this in the middle of a public letter to Rabbi Yirmiyahu Cohen, (one of their associates, together with R’ Yaakov Shapiro, though the former attempts to minimize his ties with them), but exposing Torah deceptions is important enough to deserve its own space (redone and slightly expanded).

First of all and above all, don’t forget that any pre-modern anti-Zionist rabbinic quote must be taken with some degree of suspicion, because of the obvious (see more here, and especially here).

This particular list pulls several additional tricks:

  1. Mentioning inflated rabbis.
  2. Including ancient rabbis speaking long before Hashem showed us His face (even ואתם הרי ישראל), such as the Ohr Hachaim and Rabbi Hirsch.
  3. Containing innocuous quotations in fact adding nothing.
  4. Quoting the Satmar Rebbe’s family or his Chassidim.
  5. Omitting later changes of opinion.
  6. Doesn’t bother proving what the quote means or give any context (example).
  7. Some of the quotes are complete lies (Rabbi Elyakim Schlesinger is a well-known liar, who fabricated various quotes of the Chazon Ish and the Brisker Rav).
  8. And more.

Besides, most of the list comprises Torah sages writing mostly far before all the events which overturned the 3 Oaths. That is like quoting testimonies a woman is unmarried given before the marriage came to pass.

We Need Justice, NOT ‘Tzarich Iyun’!

One paragraph in a recent article typifies so much of the foolishness and evil of “Tzarich Iyun”.

Pinchas Freudiger [Translator, Computer Programmer and Instructor] writes:

“… As the West continues to lose its pride, it is up to us, the Jewish nation, to provide the moral and legal justification for how to live a healthy, wholesome, and upstanding life and how to run a country with fairness and justice. Jews such as Yoram Hazoni, Ben Shapiro, Dennis Prager, and Louis Brandeis have led the charge on this. We need to follow their lead.”

Mr. Freudiger, have you ever stepped in a yeshiva?
