A devoted, rich minority tend to win over a lazy, poor majority. For example:
- War can be stopped. War promoted by the rich because they get to sell the weapons – not so much.
- Prisons can be stopped or reformed. Prisons which become slave labor for business (like Auschwitz for IBM) or the local towns’ job providers (read this) – not so much.
- And so on.
