The bottom line comes at the bottom:

Fundamental Rules for Giving

1. Never sit on boards of directors for organizations that finance programs or individuals who are destroying the moral foundations of the free market. This means virtually all college and university boards. Never lend an aura of respectability to the enemy.
2. Never offer open-ended support to any organization. Put time limits or money limits on the support. This keeps the bureaucrats on their collective toes.

3. Never sit on more boards than you have time to monitor. Monitor the outfits.

4. Fund projects, not people. Check out the results before funding additional projects.

5. Never fund a project that could be profit-seeking, unless you are an investor. Non-profit projects should be bankrolled only because they are important, but the market demand is low.

6. Endowments should not be provided for ideological organizations: education, research, publishing, etc. Endowments may be suitable for medical and charitable (direct giving) organizations. Endowments sever the bureaucrats from the donor’s goals.

7. College presidents cannot be trusted. Alumni associations are worse.

8. Never try to buy phony immortality by erecting a building with your name on it and your ideological enemies inside it, undermining everything you believe in. Better to finance the guys inside; let rich fools with no firm convictions finance the buildings with their names on them.

9. Never give money to bureaucratic group charities that distribute the money among many outfits. These are too conventional, too bureaucratic to accomplish very much. Finance higher risk, innovative experiments, project by project, since they might accomplish something unique.

10. If you believe in a project, see if you can get another well-heeled potential donor to get involved. Spread the risk around. Offer matching grants. Only a few projects will ever succeed. They are like new business ventures. Business ventures fail all the time; at least the market weeds out failures. Non-profit failures can go on for decades.

11. Fund many projects, not one with a big pay-off. You can never be sure where the big payoff really is. The bigger the payoff, the more likely the failure. Get them started, but refuse to fund them forever. Or save your big money for a project that proves its worth. Little turkeys become big turkeys when subsidized. Cut them off early. Seed money is not greenhouse money. Avoid greenhouse subsidies.

12. Better to give ten outfits a hundred thousand each than one outfit a million. Outfits that get a million dollars have to hire too many bureaucrats to oversee the money. Make them run lean.

רציתחו של צ’רלי קירק על-ידי מתנקש מהשמאל הקיצוני הפרוגרסיבי מעלה דאגה חמורה בקרב רבים בישראל לנוכח העובדה, שהשמאל הישראלי במהותו קשור כבחבל הטבור לפטרוניו שמעבר לים. לא רק שהתמיכה הכלכלית המסיבית באותם ארגונים מגיעה משונאי ישראל שבארה”ב ובאירופה (ואילולא תמיכה זו לא היו מצליחים להתקיים), אלא יותר מכך – כל צורת החשיבה, מהלך השיח, השפה, המינוח, הסמלים, ההדגשים – הכל לקוח מהשמאל העולמי שמעבר לים. גם שנאת נתניהו הפתולוגית, אגב, נולדה רק אחר שדונלד טראמפ עלה על כס הנשיאות בקדנציה הראשונה שלו והשמאל האמריקאי הפך את שנאת טראמפ להרבה יותר מהתנגדות פוליטית – הוא הפך אותה לאובססיה דתית פנאטית. בנימין נתניהו הוא אותו איש עם אותן דעות פחות או יותר מאז שנכנס לפוליטיקה, וזה נכון שהשמאל אף פעם לא אהב אותו, אבל החרם המוחלט והשנאה התהומית שהולידו את הכאוס שעברנו כאן בשנים האחרונות – כל אלו אינן אלא חיקוי זול של השנאה לטראמפ בארץ האפשרויות הבלתי מוגבלות.
בשל כך, המצב מדאיג שבעתיים לנוכח הרצח, אשר לא כוון כנגד אישיות פוליטית בעלת תפקיד או מעמד רשמי, כי אם כלפי אדם שכל פשעו הוא שהטיף נגד רעיונות הפרוגרס. משמעות הדבר היא, שכל בעל דעה הופך בעיניהם למטרה לגיטימית, וכמו באמריקה – כך גם בישראל.
כמה אירוני, שאלו המקרקרים כל העת על חשיבות הדמוקרטיה – מוכנים לפרוע את החוק והסדר, ואף להגיע לידי רצח, כדי לסכל את בחירת העם. כמה משעשע לראות את שוחרי הדמוקרטיה כאחרוני הבריונים במשחק כדורגל שהקבוצה שלהם הפסידה. כמה חשוב שנכיר אותם, ונדע מול מה אנחנו עומדים.
חשוב להבהיר, מבלי לכחש – אנחנו, היהודים הנאמנים לתורה, איננו רואים בדמוקרטיה ערך מקודש. למען האמת, אנחנו לא רואים בה ערך בכלל. הדמוקרטיה ביסודה נועדה להכריע על דרך הרוב מכח ההנחה שאין אמת שכולם מחויבים אליה ויש ללכת לאורה. ברוך ה’, זכינו לקבל תורה מסיני, שמורה לנו את דבר ה’ בכל הליכותינו כאומה וכיחידים, והיא לא ניתנה לנו כדי שפעם בארבע שנים נלך לקלפי ונחליט אם ברצוננו לקיים אותה, אם לאו. ועל-אף זאת, במשך קרוב לשמונים שנות קיומה של מדינה, אשר לצערנו, לדאבוננו, לאסוננו –  אינה נוהגת על-פי חוקי התורה – במשך כל אותן עשרות שנים, ציבור היראים כיבד את הכרעת העם ולא יצא לכפות את דעתו על הרוב. זה לא היה בגלל שאנחנו סבורים שהדמוקרטיה היא ערך עליון, אלא משום שמבחינה מעשית אנחנו מבינים, שכל עוד לא זכינו שרוב העם יבחר בחוקי התורה כחוקת האומה – אין אפשרות ליישם זאת בלי להגרר למרחץ דמים ולמלחמת אחים, שאפשר לדעת איך נכנסים לתוכה, אך לעולם לא ניתן לדעת איך יוצאים ממנה.
ברמה המעשית יצא, שעל-אף רתיעתנו האידיאולוגית ממושג הדמוקרטיה ומהנחות היסוד ההשקפתיות המעוותות העומדות בבסיסה – לא היה ציבור שכיבד את כלליה כמו ציבור היראים בארץ-ישראל. לעומת זאת, אלו אשר אין להם תורה ואין להם אמת שהם מאמינים בה וחיים לאורה וחיי ההפקר שהם משאת נפשם מבוססים על אותה ‘דמוקרטיה’ כערך עליון – דווקא הם אינם בוחלים בכל צעד דיקטטורי, אלים, הרסני וחסר אחריות כדי לקעקע את החברה ואת המדינה כאשר מתברר להם, כי על-פי כללי המשחק הדמוקרטיים הם צריכים לפנות את מקומם ולאפשר את שלטון הרוב, שמבחינתם אינו אלא המון נבער.
זה לא יגמר בטוב, וצריך לטכס עצה איך לקדם את פני הרעה. הכניעה של בגין באלטלנה הייתה אולי נכונה בשעתה, כאשר השמאל היה רוב, שהושג אמנם בדורסנות סובייטית, אבל סוף סוף הם שלטו מכח הכרעת העם. כיום, הם לא רוב. הם בקושי מיעוט זניח, וגם זה – רק מכח הספונסרים שלהם מעבר לים. אסור להכנע להם, אסור שליל גלנט יהפוך לתקדים ולמודל קבוע, אשר יְקַבֵּעַ את שלטון המיעוט שלהם לנצח. מתוך נחישות, אחריות והבנת גודל השעה – צריך לשים במקומו הראוי את השמאל הקיצוני האלים והבוגדני, בטרם יכלה את כולנו. ויפה שעה אחת קודם!

Aza First, France Next!

American ambassador (Jewish) Kushner recently published “A Letter to Emmanuel Macron” (President of France) in The Wall Street Journal [*].

“I write out of deep concern over the dramatic rise of antisemitism in France and the lack of sufficient action by your government to confront it. Antisemitism has long scarred French life, but it has exploded since Hamas’s barbaric assault on Oct. 7, 2023. Since then, pro-Hamas extremists and radical activists have waged a campaign of intimidation and violence across Europe. In France, not a day passes without Jews assaulted in the street, synagogues or schools defaced, or Jewish-owned businesses vandalized… I urge you to act decisively: enforce hate-crime laws without exception; ensure the safety of Jewish schools, synagogues and businesses, prosecute offenders to the fullest extent; and abandon steps that give legitimacy to Hamas and its allies.”

Reread that indictment. The math is obscene: Jews now represent approximately 0.75% of France’s population, with the Jewish population at around 500,000 people! And yet attacks on Jews (not Israelis!) are “almost daily” (to paraphrase Kushner), not isolated incidents, so it’s not the growing Arab population either. It’s right up there with “don’t complain about the rain”.

Well, the accused called this literary action “unacceptable” and even summoned the American Jew for an Ellul “rebuke”. Not because the facts are not factual, even according to them, but because the French government has weighed its own suppressive actions and — Surprise! — found them quite adequate. France’s diplomats add that ambassadors are not permitted to interfere in a country’s internal affairs under the Vienna Convention.

We can learn from the bienpensants’ example. Here we see that not always is ‘the best defense a good offense’. They should have held their tongue in this case.

Let’s first try to understand why they think their preventive actions against Jew-haters in France are enough. Hmm, could they mean they adopt classical-liberal ideas on the limits of state power over hearts and minds? “Virtue cannot be legislated”? Of course not; this is hijab-banning France.

No, it rather appears this response is the ultimate admission of guilt.

A juror who admits racial bias gets dismissed from the entire case, so France isn’t only not a “moral authority”, but is disqualified from judgment in every sense, including legally, and must recuse itself. (Even the data collection could serve Jew-hating goals by encouraging Jewish emigration. The statistics are the threat.)

And their government isn’t made up of Martians, they’re also French (perhaps even more so)! Imagine a cop who claims he’s powerless to stop a mass lynching while on duty, but then the clock ticks 17:00, so he tears off the uniform and happily joins in once he’s off duty. He isn’t even incompetent, rather he himself is one of the bloodthirsty mob (albeit not as a cop, unless it’s the whole police department of the entire country).

All governments are a fiction, and in extreme cases such as this, can’t be separated from the people. In other words, they have no standing to say or do anything with Jews in any country or on any issue, because their own records prove they hate the Jews with a French passion. “They“, whether as the French Republic or as Frenchmen.

So, the whole response is an own-goal, a solid performative contradiction: “We are fully and implacably biased and untrustworthy when it comes to Jews. We prove it daily! That’s who we are. Oh, and we also strongly think (if “think” is the right word) Israelis in Aza are this and that, and must do such and such”.

It’s like a person documenting their own hallucinations, then asking to serve as an expert witness.

And to say the US government has no say whatsoever regarding little Jewish kids with skullcaps getting beaten up on their way to school because “National Sovereignty” [the cheese-eating surrender monkeys “do their best”!], while at that very same moment interfering with Israel’s actions on another continent because they’re part of the UN or whatever? That’s a double chutzpa!

Of course, invoking supposed diplomatic protocol to deflect even gentle criticism about protecting a vulnerable minority population echoes dark historical precedents, especially as far as Jews. It’s “My Jews, My rules” all over again (It’s an “internal matter”. Think: Mortara Affair and the like, Romania’s attack on Jews at the Congress of Berlin in 1878, and should I mention the Dreyfus Affair?). Can one really use the “Whatever Convention” to argue they are allowed to murder their children under property rights in their own domain?!

Why, one could almost have the evil thought that “steps giving legitimacy” to Israel’s enemies is a more genteel form of beating up a Jewish child walking to school…

[*] By the way, I love how state diplomats write letters to unread, establishment legacy media (now using paywalls because unread!) and then deem this echo chamber activity “publishing” an “Open” letter. So, I don’t actually know what the text says, but must rely on second-hand reports in the low-brow media giving a summary.
