A Simple Lesson from the Parsha (Vayeitzei)

Yaakov valued prayer on Har Hamoriya (the Temple Mount).

Read all about it!

One of the reasons we are taught so many homilies (‘vorts’) on the Torah text is so as to ignore what it says most centrally. Some homilies are correct, and the point can be proven from the text elsewhere, but even these obscure the lesson to learn from the specific words being read at the time.

You don’t have to burn or censor a book if you teach people to read it the wrong way.
