As demonstrated here several times, Rabbi Dessler was a socialist. So he told his students the equivalent of “Live simply, that others may simply live”.
The truth is, wealth is not finite. A rising tide raises all ships.
One should still live simply (and yes, it’s supposed to be relative), but solely for the correct reasons.
